The 4-piece Hocnis from Minas Gerais will be entering the studio within the next few weeks for the recording of a split-album with Shinigami Records. The recording is the result of a contest done by the record label from São Paulo where people had to pick between 12 bands to be part of the Hellstouch compilation. Ending up as the runner up, Hocnis signed a contract and will be recording a 3-way split album with two more bands: Imminent Attack (São Paulo) and Puppets (Rio de Janeiro). The winners were Rattle (Bahia), who also signed a contract and will be recording a full-length. The split-album, entitled “Against All”, will be Hocnis’ third album. The band released the single “Demo(niac)” in 2010 and “Demential Live”.
The album will be recorded and produced at Hoffer Studio by Marcelo Hoffer (Pathologic Noise). It will feature five songs altogether: three previous tracks and two previously unreleased. When questioned about the expectations for the beginning of the recordings, guitarist Igor Podrão is straightforward: “releasing a split with kick-ass bands is not only a pleasure, but also a dream come true. We’re sure we’ll do our best to represent Minas Gerais well!
Hocnis will be performing next Sunday, March the 3rd, at the Dominion X-Treme Fest, a Belo Horizonte Festival that will feature bands such as Doomsday Ceremony (Paraná), Nervochaos (São Paulo), Pathologic Noise, Serenity in Fire and Ex-Machina (Minas Gerais) among many others. The festival is fully supported by Mondo Metal.
